OMG!!! “Sidewalk Chalk” was like tooootallly on The Hills last night!
It’s in quotes because, well the record isn’t really out until September 18th. The explanation is simple…we booked the date at JB’s when we thought the record was coming out August 28th, the street date got pushed back, and it was too late to change the date of the show. So we will not have the physical copies of the CD for the show…HOWEVER, because of this, we’re going to do something even more awesome!
At our show on August 30th you will be able to buy the album like this…you get an amazing screenprinted poster by Outlaw. This comes with a code from Apollo Audio which will allow you to download the record immediately. In addition, we take down your address and send you a physical copy when they become available. Meaning you can have it almost 3 weeks before the rest of the world and you get a nice poster.
It should also be noted that we have many many (or a least a few) surprises planned that will definitely make this a memorable evening! Some tickets still available! Get on it!
Hello again…boy, the news is piling up quickly over here. First, quickly, our August 30th record release show at Johnny Brendas is getting close to selling out. So to anyone planning to just show up (friends included) we suggest you buy tickets in advance. You can do that at JB’s or online here.
*Update on this…there are in actuality plenty of tickets still to go around, but advance purchasing is always recommended.*
Also, on September 21st, we’re playing one of WXPN’s Free at Noon Concerts at the World Cafe Live. This should be a nice one for anyone who can’t make it to the record release (if you don’t have anywhere to be at noon on a friday). If you’re unfamiliar with this series, it is a nationally syndicated radio show on NPR that features a live performance and interview from the World Cafe here in Philly. Closer to that date, you should be able to follow the link below to RSVP, or to listen live at npr.org on September 21st!
So we just added a string of Pinback dates to what is shaping up to be a permanent fall tour! Basically we’re gonna head out to the south for a week with Pinback, come home for a week and then leave for a month and a half for some dates with Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, and a full month with the Velvet Teen and Say Hi. So if you live anywhere in this country, we’ll be at your door soon, asking for a place to crash! Confirmed dates below:

Hey guys, sorry to spring more bad news but, we have to cancel our show Thursday, August 9th w/ Calla because of an unfortunate family emergency. We ARE STILL PLAYING WITH THEM IN DC on Tuesday the 7th, and they are still playing in Boston on the 9th but without us.
Sorry to break the bad news, we will come back through Boston when we do our full US tour in October. Those dates will be posted shortly.
