…It isn’t a typo. It is amazing. So the TLA in Philadelphia is being “rebranded” as The Fillmore Philadelphia. To kick off the first Fillmore date, we are playing with Rundgren to represent Philly’s old and new side by side, we-are-the-world style.

The date of the show is Friday, April 27, 2007. When tickets go on sale they will be available here.

Interesting note… Todd Rundgren created that screensaver that everyone had in 1992 called Flowfazer. Trippy.

Dear Doubletree,
Thanks for giving us at least 30 cookies last week. We can’t believe that you have a warming drawer behind your front desk just to keep the chocolate chips gooey. And thanks for having a nice shuttle driver who is in a band called “Schlongdaddy” (who play some rap, some punk stuff, some country…but the one thing that ties it all together…it’s ALL nasty). Thanks for not caring about the fact that there were obviously at least 7 people staying in a room reserved for one. Thanks for not kicking Doyle out of the lobby for his outrageous face paint and neon glasses. NO THANKS to the lady that used the last 2 cups for coffee in the morning even though she only needed one. I hope your extra insulation was worth the price of my sad empty hands. But that’s not really the Doubletrees fault. Anyway, Doubletree, you are top notch. And you didn’t charge us for parking.

Just drive past all those “fancy” hotels like the best western and econo lodge and you’ll find a real gem nestled in darkness. Do you like strange furniture that looks like it was stolen from your grandmothers attic? Do you want boring fluffy towels or “rustic” towels that have weathered the storms of life? This place has CHARACTER. And who needs a continental breakfast? Just sneak over to the best western next door…if the proprietor asks you what room you were staying in make sure you say the number of one that actually exists. We learned that lesson the hard way.

This is a favorite “spot” to the people of Tuscalusa, many of them even call the Guest Lodge their home! Want to bring your football shaped novelty bar-b-q grille? NO PROBLEM! Just park that sucker outside your room and you are ready to party. Tuscalusa style.
